Date Worked: Wednesday, October 10, 2012
Time: 3:00-3:30pm
Those Present: Micah, Nikki
Observations: There were some weeds growing around the plants- but not many. The sugar cane needed to be worked upon because of the many dead leaves hanging from the stalks. The basil was thriving, but we needed to pull out the small "flowers" on the plant. All of the plants were in need of watering. There were many small tomatoes growing on the tomato bush.
What did I individually do in the garden?: I pulled out some of the small "flowers" on the basil plants. I also removed many of the dead leaves one the sugar cane stalks. In Ms. Betancourts's classroom, I planted some hydroponic plants such as four o'clock flowers and bush beans.
What did the group accomplish?: We pulled out moat of the small "flowers" on the basil plants. We also removed many of the dead leaves one the sugar cane stalks. We watered the basil, sugar cane, taro, and tomato plants. In Ms. Betancourts's classroom, we planted some hydroponic plants such as four o'clock flowers, bush beans and lettuce.
What needs to be done by the next group: I think the next group should comntine to pull out weeds and water the plants. They should also pull off all dry leaves on the sugar cane. Lastly, the next group should check to see if any of the tomatoes need to be harvested.
What should we harvest?: If found that the tomatoes are ready to be harvested, the next group can harvest them.
