Garden Group 3: 2-27-13

Nikki holla (:
Date worked: Wednesday, February 27, 2012
Observastions: There was large weeds that looked like plants. The soil/dirt was absolutly covered in weeds.
What work that you did individually: I pulled out weeds. Medium-large weeds. My group and I pulled out weeds, and if you ask me, we did a pretty good job.
What needs to be done with the next group: More weeding. Unforunately my group did not pull out all the weeds. Also, water the plants.
Harvest?: Nothing needs to be harvested.

garden group 4 (wednesday 27th 2013)

1) a picture of your group working or before and after pictures of the garden on your workday 2) Date you worked 3) Observations you made initially before you started to work. 4) What work you did individually in the garden? What work your group accomplished? 5) What you think needs to be done by the next group? 6) What should we do with the harvest?

1) Pictures will be posted by Ms. Betancourt.

2) Wednesday 27 2013

3) Some observations that I made before working is that the garden was fully overgrown and there was a pathway in the center of the garden where the stones would go.

4) Individually I pulled out weeds (and mostly the big ones, some of the small ones though). As a group we cleared out a lot of weeds and most of the garden closest to the band room.

5) I think the next group needs to clear out more and more weeds until we can start planting plants and placing objects (i.e. garden gnomes).

6) There was no harvest this week.

REMEMBER TO BLOG!!!

Remember folks that you have two parts to your garden work: 1) do the 30 minutes of work when your garden group is assigned, and 2) WRITE YOUR BLOG POST! These are graded and will be recorded for the 2nd Semester Grade! So remember you have 1 week from the day that you do your garden work to get the blog posts in. I will comment to let you know that I received it! Happy Gardening! Ms.Betancourt

Garden Layout Plan....

Hello All, So with a new year, we have a new garden layout for the coming year, thanks to the 2012-2013 Biology Honors Class. They have worked hard for the past month discussing, measuring and speaking with experts in the field of gardening to come up with a fantastic new garden layout plan. All of the student groups submitted great plans, and both the Biology and Biology Honors class vote on which they thought would be best for our garden. So here's the plan and we set to work next week to get the garden looking like our Plan! A big thank you to all the student work you folks do in the garden! It Really does make SAS a great place and now the SAS Ohana will have a lovely garden to enjoy!
