Observations: 

There are a lot of weeds near the banana trees and some near the sugar cane.

Individual Work: 

I dug up the weeds closer to the pavement and then gradually moving towards the banana trees. 

Group Work: 

We dug and pulled weeds. Watered the banana trees, basil plants, and the bell pepper plant.

Work that should be done by the next group: 

Continue with the removal of weeds. Prepare the garden for new plants to be planted and tend to the sprouting plants behind Ms. Betancourt's room. 

What we should harvest: 

Nothing needs to be harvested at the moment.

Garden Group Work (Group 4)

People who worked in the garden today: Yusuke and Kekaha

Date: February 2, 2012 

Time: 3:00PM-3:30PM

Initial Observations:

All of the soil tested today in the garden had a pH level between 7 and 8.  Most of the weeds that I have seen in the past few weeks have been taken out.  Some weeds are still growing near the banana trees.  

Individual Work:

I tested pH levels of soil in various locations in the garden.  I also watered the banana plants, sugar cane, and areas near the Band Room.  

Work accomplished as a group:

We tested the pH levels of soil in various locations in the garden.  We also watered the banana plants, sugar cane, and areas near the Band Room.  Kekaha also moved the wheelbarrow out of the garden.  

Work that should be done by the next group:

The next group who will be working in the garden should take out the remaning weeds that are in the garden.  They should also begin preparing the garden so that we can begin planting new plants.

What we should do with the harvest:

We currently do not have anything to harvest in the garden.
